I harvested my bull moose with Bear Lake Guides & Outfitters in September 2006. This bull was taken after the first two hours of the first day of my nine day hunt. My guide, Dirk Schuirmann was excellent. Two cow calls 15 minutes apart had this beast eagerly trotting to us within 15 yards.
Four friends and I traveled together in quest of a moose, we each got great bulls. I can't say enough positive things about the Schuirmanns, their guides and the cook. The camp was organized, had excellent food, and lots of moose for everyone! I would highly recommend Dirk and his team to anyone in quest of a great hunting adventure. I can't wait to come back to hunt with them again.

Hey Hunters and friends - the Moose is no longer on the loose!! It's Brown and it's Down 9/29/04 7:30am on the 6th day of a 7 day hunt we called him in to within 25 yrds but with heavy cover NO BOW SHOT! He spooked off thru the bush but stopped on a call at 300 yrds +/- and gave me a broadside... pass the .338 WBY MAG rifle ...POW!....dropped him with a back bone shot, then one in the boiler room for lights out!! What a rush! When he was charging in to the call you felt like running but held for the shot. Maybe next time with the Bow...GRIZZLY in the spring!! Shoot straight and often... regards,
